Saturday, June 08, 2019- Royal Media Services owner SK Macharia has mourned the passing of veteran journalist and legendary sports commentator, Mohammed Juma Njuguna.
Moha, as he was fondly referred to, passed away on Saturday morning at the Nairobi hospital after long illness.
He joined Royal Media Services in 1999 and stuck with SK Macharia through thick and thin until his death, he was a senior radio producer at Radio Citizen.
Macharia and his wife eulogized Moha as a “man of impeccable integrity” whose death had dealt a “devastating and painful blow” to the Royal Media Services family.
“We mourn a veteran broadcaster and long serving employee Mohammed Juma Njuguna. His death is a devastating and painful blow to the RMS Family and the media industry at large.
"Njuguna was not only a dedicated member of the Royal Media Family but fiercely loyal to the brand, a rare breed in the current media landscape. He was among the founding members of Radio Citizen in 1999 and remained committed to the cause even during the trying times.
"He was a man of impeccable integrity whose contribution to the growth and expansion of Radio Citizen and the entire Royal Media Services Limited cannot be gainsaid.
"During his time at Royal Media Services, he used his skills, expertise and in-depth knowledge in journalism, particularly sports and football commentary to offer guidance and nurture young talent.
"We convey our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fans and colleagues at the Royal Media Services and pray to God to give strength to his loved ones during this difficult time," read their message.
