Saturday June 1, 2019-A 22-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning while trying to sneak into Narok Stadium where President Uhuru Kenyatta is presiding over Madaraka Day celebrations.

According to reports, Adan Galhai, who is also known Urisha Galhai, had been arrested by KDF soldiers on Friday but he got away.

A police report revealed that Galhai, who is suspected to have links with deadly terror group Al Shabaab, was posing as a security officer at Uhuru’s event while armed with explosives.

“He wanted to enter the stadium on Friday and when searched, his National Identity Card and another Identity Card written as National Security were recovered from him.”

“When he was being questioned about the same he escaped,” the statement reads in part.

Galhai was nabbed on Saturday morning when he went back to the stadium.

However, a middle-aged man who had accompanied him managed to escape.

The officers who are handling the case revealed that he had lied to them that he had spent the night at a nearby hotel.

According to the statement, Galhai converted to Islam in 2014 and joined Al-Shabaab and has been living in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
