Thursday June 20, 2019 - Bahati Member of Parliament, Kimani Ngunjiri, has defended himself and his fellow Jubilee Party members who support Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambitions.

However, he said that he is ready and willing to make an about-turn on Uhuru's order saying that he (Uhuru) is the one who introduced them to the DP and told them to work with him.

"If he wants to stop what is happening today he can.”

“He has not called us to announce a change of plan.”

“If he tells us he has changed it because of ABCD we will listen,”

“Ile maneno iko akitaka kuisimamisha leo ataisimamisha.”

“Hajatuita atuambie tumebadilisha kwa sababu ya ABCD, tutaskia," Ngunjiri said.

The MP was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungunzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night.

According to Ngunjiri, he is personally ready to follow all directives handed down by the President, in a bid to avoid being seen as interfering in the relationship between Uhuru and Ruto.

At the same time, the vocal legislator insisted that the party remains intact despite its recent wrangles, the latest being Uhuru's attacks on the Tanga Tanga group on Sunday, over disrespect claims.

"The President and the Deputy President mimi siwezi ingia katikati yao (I cannot get between them)," he added.
