Sunday June 23, 2019-Deputy President William Ruto has once again suffered another major blow after University of Nairobi scrapped his PhD course.
Last year, Deputy President William Ruto was among those who graduated with a doctorate degree in Plant Ecology.
According to University of Nairobi management they decided to scrap Ruto’s course because it is not popular among the students and to comply with requirements of Commission for University Education.
"Consequently, the university has undertaken to rationalise programmes and review or revise curricula to comply with the Commission for University Education (CUE) standards and guidelines,” read a post by the University.
Other courses that were scrapped include BSc in Microbiology and Biotechnology, BSc in Biology, BSc in Environmental Conservation, Natural Resources Management,MSc in Agriculture Entomology, MSc in Medical and Veterinary Entomology, PhD in Applied Microbiology, PhD in Terrestrial Plant Ecology and PhD in Aquatic Plant Ecology.
