Shock as Citizen TV owner SK MACHARIA kicks SONKO out of his studio during interview with JEFF KOINANGE and this is why

Thursday June 6, 2019-An interview on Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) on Wednesday ended prematurely, after the guest, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, allegedly broke editorial dictates.

The interview which revolved around Sonko's wrangles with Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, took a wrong turn after the Governor accused the station of bias.

This after he was barred from exposing the Woman Rep using recorded phone calls, claiming that Passaris has been soliciting all manner of things from him, including money.

He added that she has as well been trying to swindle him and get double payments for official duties, with all attempts from the host, Jeff Koinange, to tame him proving futile.

From the onset, the county boss declared that he must be allowed to clear the air on the conduct of the MP, failure to which he threatened to leave the interview.

"The allegations she made against me are so grave and I must respond. Citizen is always one sided. Kama hamtaki niongee mniache niende nilale (if you don't want me to speak then let me go and sleep. Me I don't care)," he said.

He further said that being the County Governor, he has right to speak his mind, or else he would deal with the station.

"I must speak, I am the Governor of Nairobi and Citizen is in Nairobi. Ama nianze kuagalia kama mumelipa license (I can even check if you guys are licensed)," he threatened.

This resulted in a slight break, after which the interview was called off, with the Governor leaving the documents with the host and promising to come another day.

"Because of editorial control and journalism standards, we won't continue," said Koinange.
