Wednesday June 26, 2019 - Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, has revealed details of his phone call to President Uhuru Kenyatta regarding Deputy President William Ruto's alleged assassination plot.
On Sunday, Ruto called the President and informed him that four Mt Kenya Cabinet Secretaries were planning to kill him.
But appearing on NTV's SideBar on Tuesday, Babu Owino said that he had a phone conversation with Uhuru and in their discussion, the President termed the claims as sideshows.
The Head of State further reportedly divulged that he was more interested in creating opportunities for the youth.
"After I heard the news about the alleged attacks on DP Ruto I called the President and he said he is not interested in sideshows and is concentrating on the big four agenda,” Babu Owino said.
"Furthermore, he said that he wants to create opportunities for the youth to create jobs for them.”
2He wants to unite the country and secure the borders of our nation from Al Shabaab," Babu Owino added.
Owino justified the President's statement by explaining that Ruto himself proved that they were rumours because he was yet to record his own statement.
"The fact that the DP did not record a statement then shows that this is a rumour," he said.
Ruto is yet to record a statement with DCI over his assassination claim.
