Thursday June 20, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga’s plan to tour Mt Kenya region has received a major boost after Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, expressed their willingness to join the two when they embark on the long awaited visit.
According to sources, the organizers of the much-anticipated tour are leaving nothing to chance after reports emerged that the two are preparing to escort Uhuru and Raila to a region that is against the handshake.
“We shall continue offering our support to both President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga in the pursuit of uniting this great nation,” Joho said last week.
Also rumoured to accompany the President is Embrace Movement group, which consists mainly of women leaders who have come out to support and popularize the handshake gospel across the country.
The tour comes a week after Uhuru lost his cool and rebuked Central Kenya MPs who are drumming up support for Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.
Uhuru is said to have come up with his plan to visit the region after National Intelligence Service (NIS) told him that he has lost control of the region to William Ruto.
