Tuesday June 18, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to be desperate and frustrated over the ongoing rebellion in Mt Kenya region.
From the time of his handshake with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, Uhuru has been slowly losing grip of the Mt Kenya electorate to his deputy, William Ruto.
A report by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) showed that Ruto is more popular than Uhuru in Central Kenya.
According to sources, the Head of State is now desperate to stem discontent that has been chipping away his political grip of the region.
Next week, Uhuru is planning to visit Nyeri County where he will be accompanied by ODM party leader, Raila Odinga.
His initial plan was to visit Muranga County with Raila Odinga but NIS warned him of a major rebellion by Ruto’s supporters in the region.
“He wanted to tour Muranga County but NIS warned him that he will face a fierce rebellion for neglecting coffee and tea farmers in the region,” said a source
In Nyeri, Uhuru wants to explain to locals about his handshake with Raila Odinga.
Many Jubilee supporters from Mt Kenya region are against the handshake and that is the reason Uhuru is facing a fierce rebellion.
