Friday June 21, 2019 - Senior Government officials seated at Harambee House are planning  to lock Deputy President William Ruto out of Central Kenya despite a National Intelligence Service (NIS) report warning them of  dire consequences should they go ahead with their plan.

On Thursday, while in a weekly briefing with the National Security Council Committee (NSCC), NIS warned State House and Harambee House operatives from locking the DP out of Central Kenya.

The NIS warned that Ruto will gain more support from the vote rich region should they try to bar him from visiting the area.

However, despite the warning, Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, is said to be holding meetings to counter Ruto’s wave in Mt Kenya.

Sources within Government say the group has been called for two meetings at a Nairobi Hotel on Thika Road.

Phones are not allowed into the meeting.

Last week, Karanja Kibicho and Jubilee Party Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, gave the group Sh 10 million to launch a campaign to destroy Ruto’s political credentials in Central Kenya.

The group will be touring Kiambu, Muranga, Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Nyandarua preaching the gospel of anti-Ruto and also drumming support for the handshake between Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement party leader, Raila Odinga.
