Monday June 17, 2019 – Murang’a Women Representative, Sabina Chege, has surprised Kenyans after she explained why she cried at a public function in Kenol, Muranga County, last Friday.
Chege, who had accompanied other ladies in the Embrace Rally, was left crying after a section of the crowd booed her.
She beseeched the people not to heckle her but her attempts fell on deaf ears and she ended up lecturing the crowd asking them if they had been sent by someone.
The County Woman Rep then demanded respect from the defiant crowd.
“I swear if you are here having been sent by somebody…,” she told the rowdy audience.
“I beseech you as your County mother, do not disrespect me in front of my guests,” she said.
She then broke into tears and her guests and fellow women came to console her.
Speaking on Sunday, Chege denied claims that she cried after a crowd booed her in her home County.
Instead, the MP says that she shed tears to appreciate goodies valued at Ksh100 million that the national Government delivered to her County to uplift living standards of the residents.
“I had invited guests from all over the country, and I cried after I was overwhelmed by the gesture of the government to my Murang’a people,” said Chege.
