Friday June 28,2019-Muranga Women Representative , Sabina Wa Chege ,on Friday cried uncontrollably after listening to stories by Luo community women who were raped and assaulted by security forces during the 2017 -18  post-election violence.

Wa Chege was among a group of women dubbed “Embrace Movement” that is popularising the handshake between National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Muranga women boss broke into tears when mother of Baby Pendo narrated how her baby was killed by security forces who also raped a number of women in Nyalenda Slum, Kisumu County.

The sprawling slum is among some of the places worst hit by violence during protests after the 2017 general election.

The Embrace Movement, which has the blessing of Uhuru and Raila is planning to tour all the 47 counties to preach peace and reconciliation.

Nyalenda Slum is a political bedrock of opposition supremo Raila Odinga.
