Mt Kenya region accuses UHURU of blasphemy for using a pulpit to insult Kenyans especially those who support RUTO - God will punish you harshly

Monday June 17, 2019 - A section of Mt Kenya leaders have responded angrily to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s outburst at Kasarani Gymnasium on Sunday where he castigated MPs campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.

During the Akorino Annual Conference, Uhuru who was accompanied by Ruto warned Central Kenya MPs of dire consequences should they continue with their Tanga Tanga rallies.

Controversial Kandara MP, Alice Wahome, has accused Uhuru of disrespecting the pulpit by using it to insult Kenyans.

The MP also accused Uhuru of misusing the church to advance his political interests.

“It is unfortunate that the President can stand on a religious podium and speak such words to his people,” said Wahome.

She also echoed the tune of other Mt. Kenya leaders who have always accused Uhuru of neglecting the region in his development agenda saying that they have not gained anything from his double Presidential tenure.

“I do not think I am a beneficiary of anyone, and I think that goes for everyone else (Mt. Kenya MPs),” Wahome said.
