Tuesday June 18, 2019 - Machakos Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua, has launched a scathing attack against Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda.
Speaking on Milele FM’s Kivumbi Show on Tuesday morning, Mutua said that the Government is failing as a result of Ruto's non-commitment, adding that this was a painful situation for him as a person who believes in Jubilee’s ideologies.
Mutua said that though he doesn't recognise the DP, he cannot help but feel for the nation saying that Ruto has poorly carried out his job, affecting Uhuru's delivery.
"I supported Uhuru Kenyatta, I only recognise him (Mimi niliunga Uhuru Kenyatta, huyo ndiye ninayemtambua).”
“I don't think Ruto has been the best Deputy President, especially in a poor country),” Mutua said.
The Governor claimed that the DP has dedicated all his time to campaigns and cross-County tours and is hardly in the office leaving Uhuru to play both roles as the President and the deputy.
“Ruto has not been deputising Uhuru.”
“Uhuru has been playing both roles.”
“We need a deputy president who can sit in the office and work,”
"If you are being paid a salary but is only doing politics and seeking 2022 votes who suffers? It's the Kenyans,” he said.
