KANZE DENA issues warning after JKUAT student is shot while trying to sneak into State House with a knife

Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - State House spokesperson, Kanze Dena, has issued a statement following an incident where a JKUAT student was shot while trying to sneak into the premise, armed with a knife.

Brian Bera, 25, made good his threat on social media to attack President Uhuru at State House but he was stopped on his tracks.

The fifth year Mechanical Engineering student was shot and wounded after he tried to engage a security officer with a knife.

He was booked at Kilimani Police Station before being rushed to Kenyatta Hospital where he is recuperating under tight security.

Speaking on the incident, Kanze warned Kenyans that State House is a protected area and no one is allowed in the premise without authorization from relevant authorities.

"We take this opportunity to remind the public that State House is a designated protected area under the Protected Areas Act," Ms Dena said in a statement to newsrooms.

"For that reason, no person is allowed access to the premise without the permission of the prescribed authority," she added.
