Monday June 17, 2019 - Former Mukurweini lawmaker, Kabando wa Kabando, has accused Deputy President William Ruto of using unorthodox means to divide the populous Mt Kenya region.
Sharing his thoughts via social media on Monday, Kabando, who unsuccessfully vied as an independent candidate for the Mukurweini MP’s seat in 2017, stated that Ruto has hired greedy leaders in pushing his agenda of dividing Mt Kenya ahead of the 2022 presidential election.
The former lawmaker further revealed that DP Ruto is a pretender because he recently shared his determination to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legacy becomes a reality yet he is opposed to the handshake.
“You recruit greedy naive stooges to spread RailaPhobia in MtKenya to entrench politics of threats, fear, paranoia, exclusion, hate. Sycophants ravenously extracting your filthy coins. You fight handshake, BBI, UhuRao, WarOnGraft and still claim you’re loyal to BOSS? Saboteur!” Kabando retorted on Twitter.
Kabando’s sentiments were echoed by the Kikuyu Council of Elders who said the Kikuyu vote will not be auctioned by political brokers in 2022.
“The Kikuyu vote will not be brokered for money by ‘tukunias’.No one carries a vote for another so those ‘promising’ others the votes of the region, we know you; and you aren’t the first ‘tukunias’ in the history of the Kikuyu people,” Wachira Kago who is Council chairman stated.
