Tuesday June 18, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has claimed today that his Government has created 840,000 jobs over the past one year.

Making the announcement on Tuesday, Uhuru’s spokesman, Kanze Dena, said the Government has made a lot of progress over the last one year by reducing the unemployment rate by 1.5 percent.

Kenya’s unemployment rate is currently at 40 percent and is expected to rise due to corruption and mismanagement of public funds.

“Last year, the Government created more than 840,000 new jobs (Economic Survey 2019, p. 39).”

“That’s a lot of new jobs, especially coming after an election year when, as we all know, the economy tends to slow down somehow,” Kanze Dena stated.

Kenyans feel that this pronouncement is a big joke to because there are millions of Kenyans who are jobless and the only thing the Government has been doing is recycling old men like Moody Awori and Matu Wamae.

When a short term construction is opened like the one for the SGR, to the president that's job creation. What I don't know after the job completion then it becomes what? Guys tell me.
