Wednesday June 12, 2019-The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has commended Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti for the renewed fight against corruption in Kenya.

Speaking when he met Kinoti and Haji in Washington on Tuesday, FBI Deputy Director, David Bowdich, said the American agency will help Kenya fight corruption inside and outside Kenya.

The director said US will help Kenya with advanced technology of tracing money hidden abroad by senior government officials and some rogue businessmen.

 According to a data by United States NGO, over Sh 5 trllion is hidden abroad by Kenya politicians led by governors, senators, MPs and some senior parastatal heads.

 Now the US has vowed to help Kenya trace money hidden in Cayman Islands, Jersey Islands and Mauritius and other banks in Europe and Middle East.

 “We will assist Kenyans in bringing the money back and prosecuting those involved under the Kenya law,” Bowdich stated.

 Among those believed to be hiding billions abroad is Deputy President William Ruto, former Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero, Governors Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) and Okoth Obado( Migori) among others.
