Friday June 14, 2019-President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again defended his handshake with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga saying it is good for all Kenyans.
Speaking in Kisumu county during the burial of Kisumu Governor, Prof Anyang Nyongo’s mother, Dorothy Nyongo on Friday, Uhuru sad he country is on a recovery path from tribalism and corruption following his partnership with Raila Odinga.
Uhuru also reiterated the need for leaders to shun politics of 2022 and focus on uniting and developing the country.
On his part, Raila Odinga accused unnamed leaders of giving out too much cash, which they cannot account for, and urged churches to reject them.
Raila urged the clergy to follow the footsteps Anglican Church Archbishop, Jackson Ole Sapit, who banned donations made to the church by politicians saying they will only accept offerings.
“We are not going to open up the pulpit to be the place where we do politics. If we have to meet Christians and greet, let us do it outside the church. Let every worship hour be a worship hour where what we hear is the word of God and not political rhetoric,” Ole Sapit told a congregation in Kiambu county last week.
