Thursday June 20, 2019 - Former Kakamega County Senator, Boni Khalwale, has warned Jubilee and ODM lawmakers who are planning to extend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term after his tenure expires in 2022, not to attempt it.

In a post on Thursday afternoon, Khalwale warned that extending Uhuru's term limit might lead to chaos and a revolution in the country.

“The Presidential term limit in Kenya is a constitutional safe guard meant to overhaul leadership every 10 years. Attempts by the handshake team to expand the executive is meant to perpetuate dynasties. This must be rejected by the hustlers as it would breed chaos & a revolution," Khalwale said.

The former lawmaker further explained why the constitution limited presidential terms.

He noted that calls by some of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party members and ODM members led by Raila Odinga will be a move to maintain dynasties.

Khalwale is Ruto’s point man in Western Kenya.
