Monday June 24, 2019 – The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) summoned four Cabinet Ministers from Mt Kenya region over plans to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Over the weekend, Belgut MP, Nelson Koech, and Kericho Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, accused the Ministers of plotting against DP William Ruto.
On Thursday, Ruto got the names of the four Cabinet Ministers who he believed met in La Mada Hotel and mooted a plan to send him to his maker.
The four are Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary, Peter Munya, Transport CS, James Macharia, ICT CS, Joe Mucheru, and powerful Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho.
The four are said to have approached Government assassins to kill Ruto before 2022.
“It is true we are investigating four senior State officers over the plot,” said Michael Sang, who is a senior DCI officer.
