Governor WAITITU spills the beans about what he told the EACC regarding the missing 2 billion, his bank accounts and his wealthy daughter

Wednesday June 12, 2019 - Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, provided a detailed account regarding his trip to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission offices on Tuesday.

Speaking during an interview with the media, the embattled Governor maintained that he had surrendered himself to the EACC to clear the air regarding the County budget errors.

He went on to disclose that EACC's CEO, Twalib Mbarak, summoned him seeking clarification over the various allegations laid against him as well as members of his County Government.

"They just wanted some clarification regarding the clerical errors found in my County's budget," Waititu affirmed.

Waititu also denied reports that he had been grilled for 8 hours by EACC investigators as had been reported by the media, asserting that his interview lasted for only 30 minutes.

"My actual interview barely lasted for half an hour, the only reason I was at their offices for some time was because they were short-staffed and I was forced to wait," he expressed.

The Kiambu Governor was under the spotlight in front of the Senate’s County Public Accounts and Investments Committee on May 2nd, 2019, after it emerged that his County incurred Ksh2.5 billion abnormal expenditure, money believed to have ended up in his daughter’s bank accounts.
