Wednesday June 26, 2019 - Africa Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development, Raila Odinga’s eldest son, Fidel Odinga, died four years ago in Nairobi under mysterious circumstances
Fidel was found dead on January 4th, 2015 at his home in Karen after a night out with friends.
Shrewd city businessman, Paul Kobia, claimed that he was behind the mysterious death of Fidel who was loved by many Kenyans because of his calm and composed demeanour.
Instead of being arrested for making these allegations, Kobia was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, and doctors claimed he was insane.
But since the law catches flies and lets hornets go flee, Kobia was never questioned about Fidel’s death.
However, on Wednesday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) raided and pitched camp at the offices of Paul Kobia along Riverside Drive.
The team from Serious Crimes Unit based at DCI headquarters entered the premises in the morning, catching the staff unaware.
For hours, they searched the offices for records and documents, with reports indicating that they were struggling to gain access to safes.
According to a senior DCI officer, Kobia is among thugs who have been conning foreigners millions of shillings through fake gold scams.
“We will arrest him and charge him in court,” said the officer.
