Monday, June 3, 2019-Two notorious Kikuyus who have been stealing laptop bags in Nairobi restaurants have been nabbed.
The man identified as Christopher Maina and his accomplice Mary Wangechi were caught red handed by activist Boniface Mwangi at Java Coffe House trying to steal his laptop bag.
Infact, they had already removed his phone from the bag.
They were arrested and taken to Central Police Station where police confirmed that they are wanted for thefts in other restaurants.
See photos shared by Mwangi.
I was having coffee with friends at Java Coffee House, when Christopher Maina and Mary Wangechi, who were seated behind me, tried to go after my laptop bag. Luckily, I noticed this when I turned to fetch my other phone from the bag, only to see it lying at Wangechi's feet on the next table where they were seated. I confronted them, before the Java Cafe security intervened, arrested and took them to Central Police Station.
They're being held at Central Police and guess what? They are wanted for theft in other restaurants. Have you, or someone you know, lost a bag in a restaurant in Nairobi? If you have, then head to Central Police Station. P.S. They had another bag with them and when they reached the police station, they pulled out a roll of tissue and shared it. If you know, you know; police cells don't have toiletries. It's clear they're notorious for this, but their luck ran out today. "
