Corrupt leaders hiding stolen money in their homes in panic as UHURU withdraws Ksh 1000 note (PHOTOs)

Saturday, June 01, 2019- The new generation bank notes with enhanced security features were unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta and CBK Governor, Patrick Njoroge, during the 2019 Madaraka Day celebrations in Narok County.

Speaking when he unveiled the new legal tender CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge said :

 “All the older Ksh.1000 series shall be withdrawn. All persons have until October 1, 2019 to exchange these notes, after which the older ones will cease to be legal tender”.

The new generation notes came into effect yesterday, 31 May 2019 through a gazette notice will replace the current ones

This means that current notes will cease to be legal tender on 01 October 2019 and those with the old Ksh 1000 have until October 2019 to exchange them.

The withdrawal of the Ksh 1000 note has been hailed as a masterstroke in the fight against graft with intelligence reports indicating that corrupt leaders have stashed millions in their homes.

    Take it back to the manufacturer and get the republic of Kenya with that useless face or image on the currency zombie guy CBK governor.
