Monday, June 24, 2019 - Activist Boniface Mwangi has been hailed by Kenyans after he refused to give way for a VIP motorcade driving on the wrong side of the road.

The former Starehe MP aspirant was not intimidated by the bodyguards of the unknown VIP who was harassing motorists with sirens along Lang’ata Road on Monday morning.

I only give way to ambulances and fire engines. I block entitled civil servants and politicians who love to use sirens to avoid traffic. As a taxpayer, l expect the people in this big cars to follow the law and work towards solving the perennial traffic jams.” The photojournalist-cum activist wrote on twitter.

Recently, the Inspector General of Police gave a list of VIPs entitled to right of way in Kenyan roads and warned that Government vehicles found violating traffic regulations especially those overlapping, the drivers shall be arrested and charged in accordance with the law.
