Tuesday May 7, 2019-Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been dealt another blow after his own chief of staff abandoned him at the hour of need.
Gibson Mburu resigned from his role yesterday following the mess the Governor is in currently.
Waititu is entangled in a dispute with Auditor General Edward Ouko over suspicious expenditures in the 2017/18 county budget.
Mburu reportedly resigned because of the budget controversy that involved costs for coordination of State House functions, as well as, millions that were allegedly spent on a peace mission in South Sudan.
It was, however, not clear where Mburu was headed to next.
Waititu was grilled last week by Public Accounts and Investment Committee where ridiculous budgetary allocations’ touching on State House was unearthed.
The Governor was unable to answer questions that arose from the documents from 2017/18 financial year that he presented himself.
