US Ambassador KYLE McCATER tells off ‘Thieving Kenyan Leaders’ pretending to pray after stealing public funds.

Thursday, May 30, 2019- Mr. Kyle McCater, the US Ambassador to Kenya, on Thursday took a swipe at Kenyan leaders attending the national prayer breakfast, claiming they were praying for forgiveness after looting public funds.

McCater, who is known to shoot from the hip, went on to sarcastically state that resorting to prayer, instead of fighting corruption, would ‘take the nation to the path of prosperity’.

The annual event held at Safari Park hotel was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP Ruto and other foreign dignitaries including South Sudan President Sailvar Kiir.

“Kenyan leaders are praying and asking for forgiveness for the sin of thievery at the 17th annual National Prayer Breakfast.

“What a good start to take the nation on the path of prosperity the wananchi deserve. We must all do our part. #stopthesethieves,” he added.

Kenyans on Twitter had mixed reactions to the ambassador’s undiplomatic tweet and we have sampled a few below.
