UHURU is not joking with thieves, see how 75 KRA staff were mistreated by Flying Squad and SCPU over graft - Times Tower was a no go zone

Friday May 10, 2019 - Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were among a multi-agency team that stormed Kenya Revenue Authority headquarters in Nairobi on Friday morning where they arrested 75 members of staff who are suspected to have been involved in abetting tax evasion and facilitating access to services through bribery and corruption.

Flying Squad officers and Special Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU) locked the building at 10 am and all staff were barred from going out.

Using sophisticated policing methods, detectives arrested the 75 staff who have since been sacked by KRA.

KRA said of those employees, 61 are from the Domestic Taxes Department while 14 are from the Customs and Border Control.

However, renowned social media crusader, Robert Alai, has condemned the Flying Squad over how they dealt with these rogue KRA staff members.

In a social media post, Alai said the matter should have been handled professionally and not to harass the staff like murderers.

“KRA raiding staff offices and detaining staff members in their offices. Since 10AM, nobody understands what is going on.”

“Kwani these KRA staff members don't have rights?”

“Staff barricaded at Times Tower, Corporate Business Center and Sameer branches,” Alai said.
