Shock as angry RAILA scolds CJ MARAGA and his Judiciary for punishing whistleblowers of corruption-Look!

Saturday May 4, 2019-Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has hit out at Chief Justice David Maraga-led Judiciary after it ordered a corruption whistleblower to part with Ksh27 million for reportedly tainting an ex-ministers image.

The High Court in Kenya Thursday ordered former Permanent Secretary for Governance and Ethics and anti-corruption whistleblower, John Githongo, to pay Chris Murungaru Ksh27 million for linking him to Anglo Leasing scandal.

Speaking during an interview, Raila accused the Judiciary of being the weak link in the fight against corruption.

“How can a whistle blower be penalised for helping the country to save public funds. This is a mockery of the law.”

“In future, people will be scared to whistle blow if the trend witnessed in the Judiciary’s determination of such matters is anything to go by,” he stated.

Raila further claimed that the judiciary was lenient especially for offering bail terms to criminals at the center of murder cases.
