Tuesday May 14, 2019-Deputy President (DP), William Ruto, on Sunday, defended his stance on making monetary contributions to churches and vowed to continue doing so.
Speaking during an interdenominational church service in Kakuma town, Turkana County, where he went on to hold a funds drive in aid of over 30 churches in the region, Ruto told Raila Odinga and all those opposed to his generosity towards churches to go to hell.
He quoted a scripture from the bible that urged believers to lend a hand whenever possible especially to fellow believers.
"Galatians 6:10 states; Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers," Ruto asserted.
He vowed to continue holding fundraisers for churches, saying he was following God's word and couldn't understand individuals who kept speaking ill of such contribution.
"We will continue to support the church because we have been commanded by God to do just that," the DP remarked.
