RAILA breaks silence on Governor NANOK’s defection to RUTO’s camp-Reveals what he will do to NANOK for betraying him

Friday May 17, 2019-Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has finally broken his silence over Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok’s defection to Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

In a statement, Raila, through the party officials, downplayed Nanok's political move which they claimed was expected but inconsequential.

Led by ODM National Chairman John Mbadi, he said he was not surprised by Nanok's decision to decamp to Ruto's side and that it was just a matter of time.

“It is nothing new. Some of the leaders serving their second and final term are looking for future political survival. Others want to be remembered through appointments in Government,” the Suba South MP stated.

He noted that it was the governor's democratic right to support whichever political party he wants and that they have no problem with his decision.

On his part, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna clarified they cannot take any action because the party has not received any complaints against the governor who happens to hold the position of vice chair in the party.
