Police intercept Sh8 million worth of BHANG stashed in a fuel tanker on Thika Road (PHOTOs)

Friday, May 10, 2019 - Police on Thursday night intercepted Bhang worth Sh8 million stashed in a fuel tanker along Thika Road.

According to detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the fuel tanker was ferrying the Bhang sourced from Ethiopia to Thika.

It later emerged that the tanker’s registration number KBJ 502E is fake.

According to Kasarani OCPD, Peter Kimani, the culprits had been changing the tanker’s plates to avoid detection.

He also revealed that this is a new trend drug traffickers are employing after increased vigilance from the police.

“They hide the bhang inside a compartment in the tanker and this has been taking place for long now,” he said.
