Monday, May 20, 2019-Pastor Evans Kariuki is a popular pastor based in the US, where he leads the most influential Kenyan church in America.

He has travelled in different nations across the world preaching the gospel and God has used him to bring the lost sheep back to the kingdom.

Besides spreading God’s word, the youthful pastor is a philanthropist and an award winning author.

He has been involved in various philanthropic projects such as street kids feeding programme where thousands of street children have benefited.

Kariuki also comments on various topics touching on Governance and he has something important to say on the controversial Housing levy.

Pastor Kariuki is urging the Government to reduce construction costs and give construction companies incentives to build low cost houses instead of taxing Kenyans through the controversial housing levy program.

Kariuki notes that the Government has in the past carried out projects through the National Housing Corporation that have been marred with corruption.

The money contributed by hardworking Kenyans ends up in people's pockets and Pastor Kariuki fears that the same might happen in the new housing levy programme being introduced by the Government.

''My take is the government should not do it but rather focus on reducing construction costs and making it a level playing field for Kenyans and people in investment And give construction companies incentives to build low cost housing.

We have given to National Housing programs in the past and resources were stollen. Also you cannot force home ownership....For those who invest and draw funds do they withdraw it with interest or just what was deposited? What is the incentive to the employer to hire more people if they know it will cost them more in taxes?” the youthful pastor who resonates well with the young people through his online sermons says.
