Here is one good thing you can do today! This nice LADY called FAITH MBEYU needs you

Insecurity in residential areas of Nairobi is a topic that has been discussed so many times in various forums but seems nothing is changing and it has now become a either monotonous topic or people have just decided to cope with the insecurity.

It is never serious until this hits closer home. For the family of Faith Mbeyu, it has been months of agony and anger after Faith was attacked by thugs while walking home from work in Banana, sending her into a coma. Anyone who has met Faith Mbeyu can tell that she is such a beautiful soul at least that is what her friends and husband-to-be have attested to. Faith recently got engaged and she was having the best time of her life planning her wedding scheduled to take place later in September.

According to her fiancé, she is such a brilliant mind. She is an alumni of Karatina University graduating with first class honours in Environmental science. On Monday 25th March she went to work as usual along Mombasa Road where she works as a safety officer. She had a normal day at work, very excited and communicating with friends and family. She left work as usual at around 5 pm to go home to Banana where she lives with her aunt. At around 7:30 pm, she was brutally attacked by unknown people just 200 metres from the gate.

She sustained severe head injuries which resulted in a broken skull, brain swelling and substantial loss of blood. Thankfully other commuters found her and she was eventually taken to the Karuri dispensary where she was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital. She had lost so much blood that the emergency team manning the ambulance opted to take her to Beleview South Hospital South C where they managed to control her bleeding.

The injury was very severe and the preliminary medical assessment showed that she had very slim chances of surviving. However, against all odds, she underwent multiple blood transfusions and a subsequent brain surgery which she survived. She has been in ICU for over a month and is now in HDU at Beleview South Hospital. Today, Faith continues to fight for her life and is really determined to survive against all odds. In this country such cases have become common and there is absolutely the government can do about it.

Kenyans have normalized this insecurity and don’t see any big deal with such cases. Her Hospital bill has accrued to over 4 million and her fiancée together with her family have managed to raise only 1 million from friends and well-wishers. Kenyans of good will can assist Faith clear her hospital bill. The Family has set up a Paybill number to collect donations for her hospital bill. Paybill number: 833054 Account Name: Faith
