Saturday, May 11, 2019- The Kenya Revenue Authority has interdicted 75 staff abetting tax evasion at the government revenue collection agency.

KRA, in conjunction with Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and DPP nabbed the rogue employees in a purge targeting 300 staff.

A statement from KRA read: “Investigations into the racket have been ongoing for the last four months with covert assistance provided by national law enforcement agencies to help in trailing money and communication.”

Majority of the interdicted are from the Domestic Tax department while 14 are from Customs and Border Control.

What’s saddening is that most of the interdicted staff are young people in their 30s.
