EVANS KIDERO dealt a severe blow in the corruption case facing him-See what High Court Judge told him yesterday-He is headed to jail like it or not

Wednesday May 8, 2019-Former Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero, was dealt a huge blow at the high court yesterday in the corruption case against him.

This is after the court dismissed his request to stay his corruption case until his appeal is heard and determined.

While delivering the ruling, Judge John Onyiego dismissed the former Governor's application to stay the entire matter pending the determination of his appeal.

Kidero and eight others stood accused of conspiring to commit fraud leading to the loss of Ksh213,327,300 at the county government between January 16, 2014, and January 25, 2016.

"There is no express provision for stay of proceedings in the subordinate court under the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) pending an appeal," Judge Onyiego ruled.

Kidero, through his senior counsel and Siaya Senator, James Orengo, had also tried to poke holes in the prosecution's case by stating that the charges laid against him were too vague and were only meant to embarrass him.
