DCI deny turning away Kenyans seeking Certificate of Good Conduct without Huduma Namba.


Friday, May 10, 2019- The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has refuted reports that their officers are turning away Kenyans seeking Certificate of Good Conduct without Huduma Namba.

Taking to twitter, DCI called out a tweep who claimed that a friend who went to apply for the Certificate of Good Conduct was turned away because he has not registered for the Huduma Namba.

 “Dear #KOT, Please treat this @m_mugo88 as FALSE information. For the record, we DO NOT require Huduma Number during the application process. For more information please readhttp://www.cid.go.ke/index.php/services/police-clearance-certificate.html. We encourage you to report any misleading material you spot @DCI_Kenya,” stated DCI.

The tweep by the name Mugo had wrote; “A friend went to CID HQs to apply for a good conduct, shock on him he couldn’t proceed with the application apparently because he didn’t doesn’t have a huduma namba, that’s when I knew that having it is important.”



Registration exercise for the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) better known as Huduma Namba is set to end in May 17.
