Sunday, May 5, 2019-Deputy President, William Ruto, has defended Kiambu Governor, Fernindard Waititu, after he was grilled by the Senate and questioned over misappropriation of public funds.
Senators who grilled Waititu were baffled over the reckless spending by Kiambu County Government.
The Governor had set aside Ksh 973 million for coordination of State House functions, a job that is done by the National Government.
Out of Ksh 973 Million, Ksh 902 was already paid.
A further Ksh 180 million was used to pay benefits for retired Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi.
Despite the damning report, Deputy President William Ruto who is equally corrupt has defended Waititu.
Ruto claims Waititu is not the right person to be questioned about the money set aside by his County for State House functions and retired benefits for former Presidents.
This is just sickening.
Listen to Ruto defending Waititu.
