Who said that after a Kikuyu it has to be a Kalenjin? The presidency is not a preserve of the two communities- ODM now slams RUTO

Thursday April 4, 2019-A Nakuru-based Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politician has hit out at those eyeing 2022 Presidency and challenged them to shelve their ambitions and instead focus on development.

Speaking during an exclusive interview, Hezron Okiki, who unsuccessfully contested for the Nakuru Town West Parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket, said the country has gone through a lot since the 2017 August polls.

He said the position of the presidency is an elective one and not reserved for any individual and therefore all those engaged in 2022 campaigns should cease.

Okiki urged leaders; especially those allied to Deputy President William Ruto, to instead join President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA Leader, Raila Odinga, in healing the nation.

"Kenyans will decide by themselves. Let the leaders join in the handshake in healing the country," noted the politician.

He called on those opposed to the unity to re-think and join in uniting Kenyans, saying were it not for the handshake, then the country could be in a bad state right now.
