Thursday April 4, 2019-A vocal Jubilee Party MP has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to concentrate on other more beneficial issues and stop spending too much time on the handshake.
For almost a year, Uhuru has been speaking about his handshake with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga saying it has brought peace and tranquility in the country.
But speaking on NTV on Thursday, Mathira MP , Rigathi Gachagua, urged President Uhuru to focus less on the handshake and concentrate more on income generating measures.
He noted that Kenyans wouldn't have needed the handshake if they had money in their pockets, urging Uhuru to introduce measures that will bring in more money and deny them the reason to clash over politics in the future.
"Tumechoka na handshake. Sasa rais atafute vile pesa zitaingia mifukoni mwa wakenya (Kenyans now need money, they have had enough of the handshake)," Gachagua said.
The legislator said that no amount of truces and pacts will solve the many issues affecting Kenyans.
"Hata wakisaliamiana na hakuna pesa nchini itakuwa kazi bure (Even if they make a pact and the country remains poor, it will all be in vain),” he said.
