UHURU should tell Kenyans who was pocketing Sh 1.7 billion in ghost police salaries – BONIFACE MWANGI lectures him badly

Wednesday April 3, 2019-Renowned human rights crusader, Boniface Mwangi has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to reveal the individuals behind 5000 ghost police officers who were identified last month after a biometric identification of police officers was carried by Interior Ministry.

On Tuesday, when launching Huduma Namba, Uhuru revealed that the biometric exercise unearthed 5000 ghost officers who cost taxpayers 148 million monthly. This translates to Sh 1.7 billion annually.

Uhuru said the beneficiaries of corruption proceeds were among those opposing Huduma Namba launch since they know their days are numbered.

However, commenting on social media on Wednesday, Mwangi asked the president to tell Kenyans whether those who were pocketing the money are in custody or not.

President @Kenyatta says an audit last year exposed about 5,000 ghost police officers who cost taxpayers over Sh1.7 billion plus every year. If that's true, how come no one has been arrested and prosecuted for running that ghost scam? @NziokaWaita any investigations on this?” Mwangi posed on his Twitter page.
