Thursday April 4, 2019-The Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji, has admitted that the ongoing probe on alleged theft of Sh21 billion towards the construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams is very complex and could take a little bit longer.
In a statement, the DPP noted that the nature of the case is complex because of the entire scheme by players behind the scam.
Through his deputy, Dorcas Oduor, Haji said the ODPP is keen to ensure all the parties involved are grilled to avoid a situation where shoddy evidence is brought before the court of law for prosecution.
“Investigations over the Kimwarer and Arror dams are at advanced stage. It's acknowledged that the nature is complex and therefore could take time. There is also ongoing probe in other jurisdictions thus the delay."
"We must also underscore the fact that both parties must be given humble time to present their side of story,” DPP said.
The latest development means that Cabinet Secretaries who have been grilled before may not be kicked out yet by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his much-anticipated State of the Nation address in Parliament on Thursday.
