Monday, April 29, 2019- Chief Justice David Maraga raised eyebrows on Saturday when he attended the funeral service of former President Daniel Moi’s first born son, Jonathan Moi.

Maraga, who is the President of the Supreme Court, is a staunch Seventh Day Adventist and while appearing before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for the interview of the Chief Justice position, he vowed never to compromise his Seventh Day Adventist beliefs to attend to work on a Saturday.

Thus, his presence at the Jonathan Moi’s final send off held at Kabarak University took many by surprise and created a buzz on the blogosphere.

Consequently, Maraga has taken to twitter to set the record straight stating that condoling with the bereaved on Sabbath is in conformity with teachings of the SDA Church.

“Condoling with the bereaved, even on a Sabbath, is in accordance with the teachings of the SDA Church and is in perfect harmony with the observance of the Sabbath.” He wrote on twitter.
