Tuesday April 23, 2019-Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, has recommended the prosecutions of six governors over corruption related cases.
On Sunday, sources at Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said Haji gave the commission files to prosecute the governors who have reportedly looted billions in their counties.
The six, according to the EACC, are part of a team of 20 governors who have been under probe by the Bishop Eliud Wabukhala-led commission over alleged involvement in corrupt dealings.
This follows claims that some of the targeted persons have been using their offices in a bid to scatter the investigations for the last four years.
However, EACC detectives now say that all is set and their files are now being processed in preparation for prosecution.
Among the governors set to be prosecuted are four Jubilee governors and two ODM governors.
“It is just a matter of time before we arrest them and prosecute them,” said a source at EACC.
