Thursday April 11, 2019-Former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale, has revealed that he has a deal with Deputy President William Ruto regarding their union for the 2022 General Elections.
Speaking on Wednesday, Khalwale said that their union is solid and official and is based on an agreement which they have made and are willing to stick to.
He said that part of the agreement states that he will play a major role in ensuring that the DP gets the Western Kenya vote come 2022.
"Mimi na Ruto tumekubaliana eti niko na kitu ninaweza kumuongezea ili awe rais wa nchi hii (we have agreed that I will support his bid to be president)," he said.
Besides, Khalwale said that the DP agreed that he will see to it that the Luhya nation ascends to the presidency after him that is why he supports him.
"Naye pia amekubali atatusaidia hapo mbele lakini mengi zaidi mutaelezwa hapo mbele (he agreed to help us achieve the same in future but the details will be revealed at a later date)," he added.
However, Khalwale is yet to cross over to the Jubilee Party where the DP is the Deputy Party leader, the same party on whose ticket he is expected to seek the presidency.
