Friday April 19, 2019-Former Jubilee Party Vice chairman, David Murathe, has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Wednesday attack on some Jubilee members was a direct shot at Deputy President William Ruto's camp.
Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday, Uhuru rebuked a section of Jubilee members who are questioning his union with opposition boss Raila Odinga, noting that their closeness is solely for the good of the nation and not personal reasons.
Now commenting on Uhuru’s remarks, Murathe, who is former Gatanga MP, said that Uhuru was demonstrating that he is not happy with his deputy.
He observed that Uhuru was putting it out that no amount of condemnation and manipulation will pull him out of his truce with Raila.
"He was basically telling them he is firmly behind the handshake and nothing will dissuade him. The President was directly responding to them, that the deal will remain whether they like or not,” Murathe said.
Murathe, who is a seasoned political broker, has vowed to prevent Ruto from ascending to the top seat come 2022.
