Thursday April 25, 2019-Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday flew to Baringo County to convey his message of condolence to the family of the late Jonathan Toritich, the son of former President Daniel Moi.
Ruto was accompanied by Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis, MPs Moses Lessonet (Eldama Ravine), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira) and Caleb Kositany (Soy).
But surprisingly, KANU chairman, Gideon Moi who is a political rival of Ruto, left his late brother‘s home 30 minutes to the arrival of Ruto.
Dr Ruto described Jonathan Moi as an industrious person who worked diligently throughout his safari rally career.
He also asked locals to consider going for early screening for cancer to avoid deaths.
"We need to educate our people on the importance of visiting hospitals for cancer screening because if detected in the early stages, it can be successfully treated,”
Jonathan Moi died on Saturday at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru.
He succumbed to pancreatic cancer.
