Monday April 22, 2019-Deputy President William Ruto has been warned against disrupting this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations to be held in Narok County.
This is after it emerged that the DP and his team called team “Tanga Tanga” are planning to embarrass President Uhuru Kenyatta during the Madaraka Day fete.
Already, there are concerns of a supremacy battles between the supporters of the DP Ruto’s ‘Tanga Tanga’ group and the ‘Kieleweke’ group supporting the March 9, 2018 Handshake, and the two are bound to clash on Madaraka Day.
Speaking yesterday, Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta (ODM) disclosed that intense lobbying by the two Jubilee party factions is underway to show which group is more popular and could spoil the national celebrations that will be held in Narok on 01 June.
“I understand there is lobbying between the two factions wanting to show who controls Narok. I am warning those planning such unnecessary political showdowns to keep off my Constituency of Narok North where the event will take place and Narok at large,” warned the MP.
The lawmaker, who is in support of the handshake, faulted DP Ruto’s allies for politicking at the expense of development and undermining the President who has on numerous occasions warned against pre-mature campaigns.
“When the President says he does not want 2022 politics and his Deputy is all over doing campaigns that is undermining the president and it is wrong,” Kenta fired.
