Revolution as Catholic and ACK churches disown RUTO and his rally in Murang’a tomorrow! We don’t want to be entangled in the web of corruption

Friday April 26, 2019-The Catholic Church and ACK have dissociated themselves from a prayer rally organised by Mt. Kenya bishops and which is to be graced by Deputy President William Ruto in Murang’a tomorrow.

In a statement, three Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) bishops have distanced themselves from Ruto’s prayer rally, saying ACK is not part of it.
The bishops Julius Wanyoike (Thika), Julius Karanu (Mt. Kenya South) and Timothy Gichere (Mt Kenya Central) said they did not want to be dragged into political controversies.
“The sentiments expressed by Bishop Maina were not part of the agenda of the church leaders and we are disturbed by the comments he has made against the Archbishop of the ACK,” the three said in a joint statement.
At the same time, Murang’a Catholic Bishop James Maria Wainaina also dissociated himself from the rally, saying he will not attend it.
According to Wainaina, the Catholic Church does not want to be entangled into the web of corruption as well as politics.
