RAILA’s cousin, MIDIWO, vehemently defends RUTO as he completely disagrees with ATWOLI-The DP’s name should and must be on the ballot come 2022

Tuesday April 16, 2019-Former Gem MP, Jakoyo Midiwo, has differed sharply with COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, over the Deputy President William Ruto's bid for the Presidency and the 2022 politics.

Speaking during an interview on NTV's Am Live show, Midiwo, who is also former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s first cousin, said in as much as Atwoli is a trade unionist; he has no power to dictate who should be on the ballot and who should not.

"I disagree with Atwoli for name calling... I disagree that somebody should take away Ruto's chance to be on the ballot," he said.

According to Midiwo, dirty politics is ruining the country from the onset while the Jubilee Government which according to him, got into power through 'stealing' of votes, has not yet delivered its manifesto to the people.

Nonetheless, the former lawmaker even though  held that Atwoli has a Constitutional right and freedom for expression, he noted that Kenya is a democratic country guarded by the rule of law and the Constitution which entitles anyone to vie for any elective post unless convicted or suspended by the law.
